US retail giant Walmart is axing 450 jobs, which was revealed in an internal memo circulated to staff. Walmart Chief Executive Doug McMillon said the changes will make the retailer a “more nimble organisation”. Walmart employs 1.3m works in the US, including just under 19,000 at its headquarters. This comes after it cut profit forecast in August, but reported a 1.5% increase in like-for-like sales in the US during its second quarter. McMillon wants to “[pull] back in some areas and [invest] in others”.
