UK fashion market plummets by £700m!

A gloomy outlook for Britain’s fashion market as it suffers its steepest decline in sales since 2009! Consumers are increasingly spending their money on areas that suffered the most during the economic downturn, such as eating out and travel. For the year to September 25, UK fashion has seen 4 months of consecutive sales decline and its value has plummeted by £700m from this time last year! Britain’s fashion retailers attributed their September sales slump to unseasonably warm weather; worsened by the shift in consumer spending habits and the pound weakening!
