Tesco grew its market share of the grocery sector to 28.2%

Tesco grew its market share of the grocery sector for the first time in 5 years, as the other Big 4 rivals falter. Tesco enjoyed a 1.3% increase in quarterly sales and now has a 28.2% share of the UK grocery sector thanks to their turnaround plan to reverse declining sales. Whilst German discounters Aldi and Lidl also continued to grow their share of the grocery sector, Tesco’s Big 4 rivals have struggled to produce similar results. Sainsbury’s experienced 0.4% decline, Asda posted a 5.2% drop and Morrisons suffered a 3% decline
