Natalie Massenet working on new business idea after Net-a-Porter exit

Fashion entrepreneur Natalie Massenet has already set up a new company weeks after resigning from online fashion retailer Yoox Net-a-Porter with an estimated £100m. The establishment of Imaginary Ventures is the first sign that she is already working on a new business idea.

Massenet was poised to become the Executive Chairman of Yoox Net-A-Porter after the £2.8bn merger of the two rival etailers, but unexpectedly quit in December before the completion of the deal. Rumours at the time centred on personality clashes between Massenet and Yoox Founder Federico Marchetti, who is now Chief Executive of the newly expanded etailer. However, the luxury goods guru explained her resignation by stating “it is the right time for me to move on to explore new ideas and opportunities”. Documents filed at Companies House reveal that Imaginary Ventures Limited was incorporated on 14th October, only nine days after the merger, and Massenet is the only director. There is currently no indication of what the company will do.
