After losing several top executive to Apple, the luxury giant LVMH, has poached one back.
Ian Rogers, who recently lead the launch of Apple Music, has now been named the new Chief Digitial Officer at LVMH, a new position. This role could signal new business vectors for the luxury giant, which has expanded its reach from fashion, beauty, liquors and retail into hotels, yachts, buildings and media.
Rogers is to not only build on the foundations laid by Thomas Romieu, an LVMH executive who specialised in digital, but will take it to the next level. He will explore new opportunities and lead the French luxury house’s expansion of its online retail presence. Rogers’ extensive experience in top digital ventures and his innovative spirit will help develop LVMH in the digital luxury field.
Rogers is expected to figure out “what to do” for LVMH’s businesses and help attract new generations of customers, brought up alongside online commerce. Will the luxury Fashion house transform its business and acquire innovative technology ventures or will their revamped digital presence and media communication reinforce their omnichannel strategy with a broader reach of potential consumers across the globe?
