Twitter Inc.

Twitter Inc. named Hugh Johnston and Martha Lane Fox to its board. The company has had some major changes to the board recently, following the appointment last year of a former Google Inc. executive as chairman and the departure of the former Chief Executive Officer. Fox is a member of the UK House of Lords, and is the co-founder of, and Johnston is the former CFO of PepsiCo Inc.

Yves Saint Laurent

Versus Versace Creative Director, Anthony Vaccarello has been appointed the same role at Yves Saint Laurent with immediate effect. Vaccarello joined Versus Versace as a consultant in 2013 and became creative director last year. Vaccarello replaces Hedi Slimane, who departure from YSL after 4 years was confirmed on Friday. President and CEO Francesca Bellettini said: “Anthony Vaccarello impeccably balances elements of provocative femininity and sharp masculinity in his silhouettes. He is the natural choice to express the essence of Yves Saint Laurent.”


Whistles has appointed Phase Eight’s Chief Executive Ben Barnett and Chief Operating Officer Lee Harlow as Directors. Phase Eight’s owner The Foschini Group announced it acquired Whistles on March 24, and the appointments were made the day before.


Debenhams Retail Director Mike Goring has quit the department store chain. Ross Clemmow, formerly Debenhams’ Ecommerce Director, will be retail director for the UK and Ireland. It is not yet known if Goring is leaving for another role.


Andrew Page has become chairman of the 75-strong Cote, the BC Partners-backed group. Page was formerly the Chief Executive of The Restaurant Group (TRG), and stepped down from this role in August 2014.


Wolsey and Blk Dnm Managing Director Danny Brown has left the business. It is believed, although not confirmed, that Eric Deardorff, the former Chief Executive of Garrard Jewellers, is acting as group Chief Executive for a collection of businesses owned by the Hargreaves family, including Wolsey, Blk Dnm, Morley and Nicole Farhi.

Shop Direct

The Shop Direct Group Customer Director Dene Jones has confirmed he is leaving the company after 2 years. Shop Direct have confirmed Jones has left the company to pursue other opportunities, although it is unconfirmed if he has another role elsewhere. The etailer’s Ecommerce Director Jonathan Wall has taken on interim responsibility.

House of Fraser

House of Fraser Executive Director of Home, Food and Beauty Ysanne Jenkins has confirmed she has left the business amongst news of a further restructure. Jenkins is being replaced by former Asos Executive Maria Hollins next month, who will take on the newly-created title of Executive Director of Buying and Design.  Jenkins’ departure follows a number of senior departures lately, including its marketing, multichannel bosses and Digital Director, who have all exited in the space of four months.


Simona Cattaneo joins Coty from Burberry as their new Chief Marketing Officer for their luxury division. She is currently at Burberry, where she is the head of beauty, and will take up the new role this summer. Prior to her current role, she worked with Dior and L’Oréal. In her new position, she will report to luxury president Edgar Huber.

Gieves & Hawkes

Mark Frost has been announced as the new Design Director for Gieves & Hawkes. Frost replaces Simon Spurr, who was appointed Design Director just five months ago. Spurr is leaving after three years at the company and has said he is leaving to explore other opportunities in the menswear market.


Aidan Shields, CFO at Primark, has departed the role after 6 years. It is reported that Shields has moved back to the US with his family, and it is not yet known who will be replacing Shields. His departure comes just as Primark is driving expansion in the US, after opening their first store last September in Boston.


Finance boss Harminder Atwal is in the process of leaving the business. This follows the departure of Omnichannel Director Caroline Lee who left at the beginning of this month. Jaegar have confirmed that the process to fill the roles is firmly underway, but no replacements have yet been found.


Diageo are searching for a new Chairman as Franz Humer is leaving after 8 years. Humer is retiring and will step down after their annual meeting in September, or until a replacement has been found.

Jacques Vert Group

Shaun Wills, the finance boss of Jacques Vert Group, has been appointed its Chief Executive. Wills is replacing Tim Davies, who has been in the role less than a year, to join another retailer which has not yet been disclosed.

Wyevale Garden Centres

Anthony Jones is taking over from Nils Steinmeyer as Chief Financial Officer at Wyevale Garden Centres, who has stepped down from the role after four years, and will remain with the company until July for a transitional phase. Anthony was previously with Thorn, Waterford Wedgwood and WWRD.
