Important professional moves of the week!

LVMH is ready to propose the appointments of Clara Gaylord and Natcha Valla to its board of Directors at its general meeting in April. Gaylord has held various positions within the French government and served as Chief Executive Officer of General Electric France. Values joins from CEPII, an economic think tank, where she is Deputy Director.


Michael Kors

Scott Zalaznik has been appointed Senior Vice President of Digital and E-Commerce, effectively immediately. He joins from xAd, a digital start-up, where he was Head of Global Retail. He also has experience from Sprint.


Beatrice Lazat has been appointed their Human Resources Director, replacing Belén Essioux Trujillo, who has left the company. Lazat will report to the Managing Director of Kering, Jean-Francois Palus. Most recently, she was L’Oréal’s Human Resources Director for APAC.

Urban Outfitters

Sourcing Director Stuart Cass has reportedly left the young fashion retailer. There have been many changes at Urban Outfitters over the past year – Emma Wisden, ex Buying Director for Topshop, joined to become their European Managing Director. New Heads of Women’s and Men’s Design Lizzie Dawson and Will Anstee joined her in May and July respectively.


Neil James Ritchie has been appointed the luxury brands new Group Finance Director and a Director of the company effective 16 May 2016. Simultaneously, existing Group Finance Director, Roger Mather, is stepping down from the board but will remain to support the transition until his departure in June. Ritchie brings extensive financial and international experience, having spent the last 14 years with Dyson Group where he held a number of commercial and financial roles across UK, Europe, North America and Asia, most recently Global Commercial and Financial Director.


ASOS’s Head of Womenswear Design Leandra O’Sullivan is moving to Debenhams to take up the same role in May. She will report to womenswear divisional Trading Director Sarah Stern and work alongside Head of Design Russell Fish. ASOS have not yet confirmed if they are looking for her replacement.


Former B&Q Chief Executive Kevin O’Byrne is joining value retailer Poundland in April. Initially, he will start as Chief Executive designate, taking on full responsibilities July 1st. He is replacing Jim McCarthy, who is retiring after a decade in the role. He will remain on the board until his retirement at Poundland’s AGM in September. O’Byrne resigned from B&Q last year when Veronique Laury was awarded Kingfisher Chief Executive.


Ben Stimson has been appointed the company’s new Retail Director. He is taking on his new role in March, following Rob Collin’s shift to replace current Managing Director Mark Price. Price is taking on a new role in David Cameron’s government after serving with JLP for 33 years.


Helen Thompson joins Toms as their new Managing Director for the EMEA region. She was previously at Ecco, where she has held the same position since September 2014. She has also held positions at Clarks, where she worked her way up to Europe region director from her first post as distribution planning manager.
