The two companies will be developing, producing and distributing Tiffany scents for both men and women, to be sold in Tiffany and a group of undisclosed speciality stores, joining the likes of Marc Jacobs, Chloe and Calvin Klein at Coty. They have not announced when these products will come intro fruition. Tiffany tried to enter the fragrance arena before; Chanel apparently developed a few fragrances, both men’s and women’s, in the late 80s. The division was closed in 2006.
Frédéric Cumenal, Chief Executive Officer of Tiffany & Co, said, “Tiffany is among the world’s most important houses of luxury, and fragrances are an important expression of the brand. We are pleased to work with Coty, an industry leader in the prestige fragrance category, on the development of a more meaningful fragrance portfolio through this licensing agreement.”
