Kate Bostock, who joined the women’s occasionwear retailer two years ago is stepping down from her role as Chief Executive, however, she will remain a consultant for the business. She is focusing on building her Angel and Rocket Childrenswear brand she launched last year. Bostock believes she has delivered her objectives upon joining Coast by building her team, including successor, former M&S colleague Andrew Skinner – and it was always her plan to step back after a two-year turnaround. Bostock is to remain Skinner’s mentor and oversee relationships with Coast’s retail partners, which include retailers such as Next and Shop Direct, and focus on product, brand direction and customer relationships. Her Angel and Rocket brand is sold online and in Middle Eastern stores through partner Al Shaya. She is currently in conversation about bringing it to UK department stores.
This senior management change follows Mike Shearwood’s departure from former Aurora-owned Karen Millen. Bostock denies any correlation.
Coast will now be led by Andrew Skinner. He joined the retailer in 2014 as Merchandising Director and was appointed Managing Director in April this year.
