Burberry’s sales continue to fall

Luxury retailer Burberry’s sales continue to fall as the shift in the Chinese consumer’s spending habits takes a further toll. The British brands’ revenue shrunk 1% in the 6 months to March 31. The company claim clients have become more cautious worldwide, and this trend is not Burberry specific, but is sector-specific issue caused by mainland Chinese tourists choosing to shop elsewhere in Asia. Burberry now has 63 stores in mainland China and have claimed their focus is polishing their retail offer in Beijing.
