Brands missing the mark on Snapchat

65% of retailers are missing an opportunity to use Snapchat lens and geofilter ads to connect with their millennial consumers, according to a recent study. It also showed that of the 150 million users on Snapchat, most of the brands targeting the Gen Z millennial had not even created Snapchat accounts! Rue21, Aeropostale, and Bath & Body Works all had active consumers on Snapchat, yet did not have a presence on the platform themselves. However, Walmart, Macy’s and Michael Kors’ all have a strong Snapchat presence, with Michael Kors’ recent #NationalSunglassesDay snap hitting 100 million views and increased the intent to purchase 2.1%!
