Amazon takes on fashion

Amazon has been selling clothes for over a decade, but over the last few months they have been positioning themselves as a force in the ready-to-wear fashion world. In early March, Amazon launched its first ever live-streaming program – a daily, free half-hour online show on fashion. They have also launched a reality show, “The Fashion Fund”, as well as trademarking new fashion labels that have popped up on their site. The tech giant is also now developing its own clothing line and analysts expect Amazon to become the leading US apparel retailer in 2017, and forecast $27.7 billion in revenue next year.
