Jones Bootmaker and Brantano could potentially have new owners, as Alteri Investors are looking into acquiring there retailers. Their talks are “progressing well” and a deal is expected to be finalised within a fortnight. The Dutch parent company, Macintosh Fashion, put the businesses up for sale in March and appointed BNP Paribas and KPMG as advisors to find a buyer in April. Also earlier this year, Alteri, which is backed by US private equity giant Apollo Global Management, gave a three-year loan to Austin Reed Group. Their plans for Jones Bookmaker and Brantano is to “improve” the retailers and then “sell them on”.
